Featured Initiative
ZERO Childhood Cancer Program - Southeast Asia Hub
The Foundation’s current focus is supporting the growth of the ZERO Childhood Cancer Program into Southeast Asia, bringing together key partners to develop a scalable model for advancing paediatric precision oncology across the region.
With Singapore as the hub, this initiative will bring advanced diagnostics and targeted therapies to children with cancer who need it the most.
ZERO is a world-leading precision medicine program in Australia that delivers personalised cancer care for children through cutting-edge science, combining genomic testing with advanced data analytics to inform diagnosis, prognosis and treatment strategies.
In collaboration with the Children’s Cancer Institute (CCI) in Australia and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) in Singapore, the Ho Foundation is supporting a regional initiative to:
Transform outcomes for children with cancer across Southeast Asia.
Extend ZERO’s leadership in paediatric precision oncology into Asia through a Singapore-based hub.
Establish Singapore as a regional centre of excellence for paediatric precision oncology.

One of Australia’s most respected paediatric leaders, Emeritus Professor Les White AM brings decades of clinical, research, and policy experience. The inaugural NSW Chief Paediatrician, former Executive Director of Sydney Children’s Hospital, and current Patron of Children’s Healthcare Australasia, he has played a defining role in shaping paediatric care and improving outcomes for children at a national level.
As Board Advisor, he provides strategic guidance on clinical integrity, cross-border collaboration, and the long-term impact of initiatives in children’s healthcare.

Growing up, I saw how my father approached giving. It was never something that was spoken about much. It was simply part of how he operated. If something needed to be done, he would find a way to make it happen.
What stayed with me was not just what he did, but what sat behind it. He understood that meaningful progress doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when the right people come together around a shared purpose.
Funding matters. But on its own, it is rarely enough. Without the right people, the right expertise, and the right alignment, even well-intentioned efforts can fall short. That has stayed with me.
Over time, I’ve seen how many important ideas struggle at the very beginning. Not because they aren’t valuable, but because they lack the support needed to get off the ground. They need advocates. They need belief. They need the right people around them, and the backing to act.
Ambitious ideas need champions. That is the role of the Ho Foundation – To find those ideas. Support them with funding. Connect the right people. And to advocate for them as they grow.
Ho Family Philanthropy Since 1980The Ho Foundation is shaped by the values and ongoing example of Ho Whye Chung, who continues to contribute with a quiet sense of purpose and responsibility. His approach has always been simple, build what is needed, support where it matters, and take a long-term view. Legacy
The New Hospital & Speciality Centre Wing, Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre - Tamil Nadu, India
In 2016, Ho Whye Chung funded the development of the New Hospital & Specialty Centre Wing at the 375-bed Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Centre in Tamil Nadu, India. The hospital was established in 2004 to deliver advanced healthcare to underserved rural communities, bringing specialist medical care and modern clinical capabilities to a region with limited access to major metropolitan healthcare infrastructure.
Brighthill Evergreen Home - Singapore
In 1983, he established Brighthill Evergreen Home in Singapore to provide free residential care for elderly individuals without family support. Built at a cost of more than S$5.5 million, the 180-bed charitable institution was at the time the largest aged care home in Singapore.
Sri Narayani Vidyashram CBSE School - Tamil Nadu, India
In 2013, he funded the development of the Sri Narayani Vidyashram CBSE School for 1,000 students in Tamil Nadu, India. The school was established to expand access to quality education for rural communities and combines academic learning with spiritual and values-based education, supporting the development of confidence, character and wellbeing in its students.
